Kincardine Legion Corner
We are making progress toward launching our new
Kin Cares 50/50 draw, and things are still looking good to make April the first month of draws. If you haven’t heard yet, this is a joint initiative between the Kincardine Legion and the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation. Each month, half of the proceeds will go to the lucky winner, while the remaining funds will be shared equally between the two organizations, helping support both the Legion’s many community programs and local health-care initiatives. In addition, there will be some Early Bird draws throughout the month, so it will be advantageous to buy your tickets near the start of the month. We will also have the option for ticket-buyers to easily set up a recurring purchase so that your tickets will be automatically purchased each month. Remember our slogan - Win Big. Give Back Bigger!
At the
Saturday Meat Draw, Jamie White and Steve Gill were the double-dippers, and each won two prizes. The 50/50 draw prize was $132 and went home with Elmer Lamont. Hey, didn’t Elmer win this a few weeks back? Someone ask him his secret!
Now that we are in March, I expect we will need to post a ‘low-ticket alert’ soon for our
St. Paddy’s Day Dinner and Dance at the Legion, Saturday, March 14. Be sure to grab your tickets soon. They are only $20 each, and that includes the dancing and the music, played by Left Turn Clyde. For dinner, you will have a choice of Irish stew or Shepherd’s pie with a dessert of Bailey’s cheesecake or Guinness chocolate cake.
Looking ahead to April, we have
The Mudmen at Branch 183, Saturday, April 25. Tickets for this event are already on sale at the Legion Bar, and are $35 each.
May 9th, we will be having another
Mega Meat Draw, and HWY 19 will be back to play some great music.
At the
February Trivia Night, it was Team "The Yuns and The Restless" who came out on top. Thanks to guest quiz-masters Michael and David Yun who made it a fun and challenging night!

Here are some
Dart Results from Saturday, Feb. 28, in Exeter. In mixed doubles competition, Derek Farr and Tracy Murray placed second out of 16 teams and they now advance to District competition in Hespeler, April 25. We wish them the best of luck. In the team competition, we had two teams representing our branch. The team of Steve Musselman, Terri Hogsden, Paul Lajeunesse and Dawn Senior placed first out of seven teams. The team of Derek Farr, Tracy Murray, Chris Hartwick and Stephanie Hartwick tied for second with Lucknow. So this means that both teams advance to the District competition in Hespeler, April 25. Well done, everyone!
