Detour in place for Bruce County Road 15 in Pinkerton, due to flooding
Following a rapid spring melt and heavy rain, the Teeswater River flooded in Pinkerton, north of Walkerton, part of the Municipality of Brockton, Friday (March 13).
As a result, Bruce County’s transportation and environmental services closed a section of Bruce County Road 15 after water breached a privately-owned dike, flooding and eroding the roadway.
A portion of the county road remains closed, between Sideroad 5 Greenock and Greenock Brant, as of Wednesday (March 18). This closure is for all vehicles, including emergency responders who are using alternative routes to provide services.
A detour is now in place, using Sideroad 5, Concession 10, and Greenock Brant. Signs are in place to guide vehicles through the detour.
The county continues to work with Brockton, provincial agencies, and conservation partners in response to the flooding. It will take some time to make repairs to Bruce County Road 15 and there is no estimated date for re-opening the road.
