Open house, public meeting for revised West Ridge on the Lake this Wednesday
The public will have a chance to make comments on a revised draft plan of subdivision for the West Ridge on the Lake project, Wednesday afternoon at the Kincardine municipal hall. The project is slated for the old Hartwick Farm, located on Bruce County Road 23 (B-line), north of the Town of Kincardine.
The open house will run from 3-4 p.m., followed by the public meeting at 5 p.m., held during Kincardine's planning advisory committee session.
The draft plan of subdivision comprises about 31.5 hectares and proposes 373-447 residential units of varying building types and tenures; as well as parkland; open space; and new infrastructure. Access is from the B-line; and municipal water, sanitary sewers and stormwater management facilities are proposed to service the lands.
The proposal is in accordance with the municipality's Official Plan, as approved by the Ontario Municipal Board (Oct. 5, 2015). The proposed zoning bylaw amendment is required to facilitate the subdivision, and proposes changes to the existing zones (Planned Development, Environmental Protection and Residential One Special).
The proposed zoning addresses reduced lot frontages and setbacks, increased coverage and height, new definitions and accessory uses; and additional uses in the Open Space and Environmental Protection zones.
The planning applications are currently before the Ontario Municipal Board - neither Bruce County nor Kincardine has the authority to render final decisions regarding the planning applications.
If you wish to be notified of the decision of the OMB, with respect to these planning applications, make a written request to the Bruce County planning department at the following address: County of Bruce Lakeshore Planning Office, 1243 MacKenzie Road, Port Elgin, Ontario, N0H 2C6.
