Knox Kincardine donates to Big Brothers, Big Sisters at Chili and Trivia Night
About 60 people enjoyed Chili and Trivia Night at Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine, Friday evening.

The meal featured a baked potato with chili, with desserts and beverages, followed by several fun rounds of trivia.

The church also presented a donation of $1,000 to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of South Bruce North Huron.

On hand to accept the cheque, were executive director Deirdre Carroll and fund development specialist Matt Smith.

Carroll thanked Knox for the donation and said the money will be used to take the Little Brothers and Sisters to Camp Kintail for the day.

She said the agency has launched the Big G (grandparents) program, through a New Horizons grant. This provides funding for in-school mentoring and one-on-one mentoring. Currently, the organization has 39 Little Brothers and 26 Little Sisters on its waiting list.

Smith said the cost per match between a Little and a Big, is $2,300. As to fund-raisers, he said the agency's golf tournament is slated for June 6 at 2 p.m. He also noted the organization has a Make-it-Monthly campaign for those who wish to make regular donations throughout the year.
