UBC Local 2222 wins Golden Sock Award for Lots of Socks window display
The United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC) Local 2222 in Kincardine got a little "soxy" with its window display this year and won the Golden Sock Award in this year's Lots of Socks competition.

Organized by Community Living of Kincardine and District, the contest was held last month to help celebrate World Down Syndrome Day, March 21.

Catherine Evans, assistant director of Kincardine Community Living, was on hand Wednesday morning at the Local 2222 office on Queen Street, to present the award.

"We've entered this competition for the past five years and finally, we've won the Golden Sock," said Ryan Plante, union co-ordinator. "We got 'soxy' with the display this year and showed a little shin.

"It's a great awareness event, and we were proud to be a part of it."

UBC Local 2222 will now proudly display the Golden Sock Award for a year until the competition in March, 2027.
