Donald Keating of Kincardine remembered for his pride in fixing and building things
Donald Joseph Keating of Kincardine died suddenly, Friday, April 24, 2026. at the age of 46.
He was born in Terrace Bay and grew up in Schreiber. In later years, he made his home in Kincardine where he spent many years building a life in the community.
Survived by his son, Royce; his parents, Donald Keating Jr. and Geraldine Keating; and his step-brother, Jeremy Keating and his family.
Donald completed his apprenticeship as a millwright and went on to work as a mechanical maintainer at Bruce Power. He was someone who enjoyed working with his hands and took pride in fixing and building things. He could often be found tinkering in his garage or working on his truck. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time with friends, valuing his independence and the simple routines of everyday life.
He will be remembered in different ways by those who knew him, including as a father to his son, Royce, and for the time he shared with family, friends, and his community throughout his life.
A private service will be held at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association of Grey Bruce would be appreciated; arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine.
