Cattle on the loose near Ripley, Saturday morning

The South Bruce OPP was on the scene, Saturday morning, directing traffic around several cattle on the loose on Bruce County Road 6, west of Ripley.

The animals managed to escape their farm on the 12th of Huron-Kinloss Township in the early morning and were finally corralled along the county road, with the owners moving them onto a nearby sideroad and eventually to another barn.

The cattle did not appear any worse for wear, having spent a good part of the morning on the lam.

   Hard to believe an OPP officer actually attended this incident. On the other hand, because they left the OPP office and attended, the Commissioner will probably rave about how wonderful they handled this call, possibly pin a medal on the officer for actually getting out of their police car and doing something. Time for a public enquiry into the OPP's ability to fulfill their municipal policing contract obligations and to actually police and do law enforcement in OPP jurisdictions, instead of being do nothing quasi-stylish, part time-social workers who want everyone to be invited for tea and have a stylish encounter group to discuss their "feelings"...
