Bruce Power’s annual site bus tour program returns Monday, June 1, and is being expanded through to Oct. 8 this year due to its popularity.
Bus tours will run once-daily, Monday to Friday, in June; three times per day, seven days per week, in July and August; and twice-weekly from Sept. 8 to Oct. 8. Pre-registration is highly recommended at www.brucepower.com/bustours or by calling the Bruce Power Visitors’ Centre at 519-361-7777.
“Last year, 6,300 people took a tour of our site, and learned more about nuclear power and how Bruce Power drives Ontario’s economy while helping fight cancer through the production of medical isotopes,” said Dwight Irwin, manager of community and external affairs. “As we continue to successfully refurbish our units through the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program and continue to explore the opportunity of building Bruce 'C,' the future of the nuclear industry in Ontario is bright. Our bus tour program is a great opportunity to see how we’re creating jobs across the province and powering the future.”
The Bruce Power site bus tour program launches from the visitors’ centre at 3394 Bruce County Road 20, north of Tiverton. Information on tour requirements and registration is available at www.brucepower.com/bustours and you can learn more about the visitors’ centre at www.brucepower.com/visit, by calling 519-361-7777 or sending an E-mail message to BNPDVisitorCentre@brucepower.com.
