KDSS art students bring home five awards from Owen Sound show

Kincardine District Senior School (KDSS) art students participated in the Owen Sound Juried Student Art Show last month.

There were 110 pieces of art in the show from seven different secondary schools, and 10 awards were presented.

KDSS students produced outstanding work and received five awards, including:

• People’s Choice Award - Kasey Edwards for her piece, "My Friend Savannah"

• Second Choice Overall - Sienna Pye for her painting, "Lavender Ceremony"

• Honourable Mentions - Giselle de Leur for her pencil drawing, "Winter Fun;" Emily Drake for her pastel landscape; and Eva May for her self-portrait

Everyone is welcome to the Knight of the Arts, Thursday, June 4, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., in the KDSS gymnasium, celebrating the work of visual art, music and drama students.
