Snowstorm continues Saturday in Kincardine area, with Highway 21 closed all day
It was another typical Bruce County winter day, with heavy snowfall, high wind, blowing and drifting snow, and closed roads, in the Kincardine area, Saturday.
Highway 21, from Southampton to Grand Bend, remained closed the entire day, and was still closed at 7:30 p.m.
However, by 5:30 a.m., Bruce County Road 23 (B-line) was re-opened from Lorne Beach Road to Bruce County Road 15.
Three hours later, both Bruce County Road 86 from Amberley to Lucknow, and Highway 9 from Kincardine to Walkerton, had been re-opened.
The South Bruce OPP urged motorists to stay off the roads and postpone any unnecessary travel.

The Ripley Winter Carnival saw smaller-than-normal crowds because of the stormy weather and closed roads. However, the event went ahead, serving more than 150 at the pancake breakfast, and welcoming about 20 young people at the hockey skills competition, and about 40 children at the ice-painting.
The scheduled hockey games were cancelled, with the ice surface used for public skating at one end, and shinny hockey at the other.
The snow and gusty winds are expected to ease off by Sunday, along with the extreme cold weather. Family Day is slated to bring more snow but warmer temperatures.
