Bruce County is creating a new 20-year Forest Management Plan, and is urging residents to share their thoughts to help shape it.
The plan will guide how the county manages its forests over the next 20 years. It will focus on:
Keeping forests healthy
Responsible public access
Protecting natural areas for future generations
“Bruce County is known for its natural beauty, and our forests are a large part of that character,” said warden Luke Charbonneau. “Protecting and enhancing our natural, green spaces is important for our environment, economy, and quality of life. Community input will help shape the Forest Management Plan which will serve the county for generations.”
The short on-line survey allows residents and visitors to share what they value most about the count's forests and what priorities they want included in the new plan. For those without on-line access, visit your local Bruce County Public Library branch for printed copies of the survey.
The survey will be open for six weeks and will close July 28, at 11:45 p.m. It is available at www.surveymonkey.com/r/BC-FMP.
