Grey Bruce Public Health welcomes new provincial appointee to board of health

Kenneth Craig, chairman of the board of health for Grey Bruce Public Health, has announced that Michael Murray of Grey Highlands will be joining the local board as a provincial appointee.

The executive council of Ontario approved the appointment through an Order in Council, effective July 30, and for a term not exceeding two years.

Murray has extensive experience in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He served for 28 years with the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, including as its chief administrative officer from 2004-20.

“On behalf of the board of health, I extend a warm welcome to Michael (Murray) as the newest member of the board," said Craig. "His experience will bring an important perspective to the board and I look forward to working with him on our collective mission of promoting and protecting the health and well-being of everyone in Grey and Bruce counties.”

Murray joins Chad Richards and David Nusko as provincial appointees on the board, which held its inaugural meeting, July 24. Grey County representatives on the board are Shirley Keaveney (vice-chairperson), Dane Nielsen, Barbara Dobreen, and Scott Greig. Bruce County’s representatives are Craig, Steve Hammell, and Rod Anderson.
