Sheila Ann McQuillan of London, formerly of Lucknow, died peacefully at University Hospital in London, Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born in Wingham, she was the daughter of the late Florence and Wilfred McQuillan.
Survived by her sister, Flora Murphy; and brothers, Archie (Muriel) McQuillan and Sandy McQuillan.
Dearly missed by her best friends, Darlene Rillett and Maggie Koricina.
Her many nieces and nephews will hold lots of cherished memories of Aunt Sheila.
Predeceased by her sister-in-law, LuAnn McQuillan; and brother-in-law, Joe Murphy.
Sheila grew up on the farm on the St. Helen’s sideroad. She attended Lucknow District High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario.
She then attended Althouse Education Centre and spent the next 34 years teaching for the Huron Perth Catholic District School Board at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and Holy Name Catholic School in St. Marys.
Sheila taught the primary grades and was also a wonderful music teacher. She displayed her talents playing piano and leading choirs in numerous Christmas concerts. In her retirement, she loved travelling and spending winters in Florida with her two best friends.
In keeping with Sheila's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial interment service will be held at South Kinloss Cemetery, Lucknow.
