Sidney Alexander of Glammis remembered for his stories and his easy-going spirit

Sidney Roy Alexander of Glammis died Aug. 17, 2026, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, at the age of 66.

Beloved brother of Steven Alexander (Pat), Randy Alexander (Karen), Richard Alexander (Patti), Stuart Alexander (Nancy), and Sandra (Kevin) Stewart, and much-missed uncle of 12 nieces and nephews.

Fondly remembered by his family and friends for his relaxed nature, his stories, and his easy-going spirit.

Predeceased by his parents, James and Eileen (née Stewart) Alexander.

Sidney was a kind, easy-going and laid-back man who was happiest enjoying the simple things in life. Following in his dad’s footsteps, he became a truck driver, a career he took great pride in. He enjoyed talking about trucking and sharing stories from his years on the road. He also had a love of hunting, trapping and the outdoors, and cherished the time spent pursuing the things he enjoyed.

He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, followed by the funeral at 12 p.m. A luncheon will follow at 1 p.m.

Burial will take place at Purdy Cemetery in Brockton.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Purdy Cemetery or the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation would be appreciated; arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home; www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.
