Murray Jamieson retires from PRWIN board of directors

Murray Jamieson of Huron-Kinloss Township has retired from the Pine River Watershed Initiative Network (PRWIN) board of directors after 15 years of hard work and dedication to the organization.

Chairman Dave Grant commended Jamieson who served on the board and took on responsibilities in a number of roles.

"He was a friend and neighbour of mine before I joined the PRWIN board," said Grant. "He provided timely and thoughtful advice to me as a new member and continued to provide support and guidance when I took over the chairman’s role."

Jamieson was a dedicated member, missing very few meeting since 2011, said Grant. "He always supported many of our tree-planting days and special projects. He and I were often on the tree-planter together on those early spring days when the temperatures were only slightly above the required temperature to begin planting.

"He has planted and watched a great many trees grow and thrive in the watershed over the years and has installed countless project signs around the township.

"Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to PRWIN, and excellent advice and guidance over the years. I hope you will continue to join us for our Community Planting Day in early May and continue to teach the next generation the value of restoring and protecting our local environment."
