Robert William Powell of Belfast, south of Lucknow, died peacefully at Stratford Memorial Hospital, Sept. 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 67.
Deeply missed by his loving partner of 33 years, Michele; and his four children, Katherine, Jennifer (Neil), Chantell (Mike), and Joshua.
He was a proud grandfather of Autumn (Cody), Brailin, MaKayla, Karlee, Chloe, Hayley (Lucas), Nick, and Damian; and a cherished great-grandfather of Aaliyah, Carson, Olivia, and Saige.
Also survived by his sisters, Vicki Hanna (Joe) and Shelley Powell; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Bob retired from the Sifto Salt Mine last September after an incredible 46 years of service. Throughout those years, he was dedicated and hardworking, taking great pride in his work and in the many people he came to know along the way.
Above all else, Bob was happiest when he was surrounded by family. Those who knew him will remember his love of family, his laughter, his friendships, and the countless moments that brought everyone together.
As we say goodbye, we like to imagine Bob exactly where he would want to be - sitting on a deck, watching over all of us, enjoying a cold beer alongside his siblings, friends, and parents who went before him.
Rest peacefully, Bob. You will be forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
At Bob’s request, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held later this fall, with details to be announced.
