Bruce County is reporting no injuries after a fire occurred in a unit at the apartment building at 915 Huron Terrace in Kincardine, operated by the Bruce County Housing Corporation, Friday morning.
In a press release, issued Friday afternoon, the county states that Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services Station 12 responded to the scene and successfully brought the fire under control. As a precaution, all tenants were safely evacuated.
Bruce County staff worked with the Municipality of Kincardine, emergency responders, and community members to support tenants. The county’s human services team is continuing to work with local social service providers, including the Red Cross, and directly with tenants, to address immediate needs and next steps.
The site remains under the control of emergency officials. The public is asked to avoid the area to allow crews to continue their work safely.
The building has been secured, and Bruce County’s Housing Facilities team will begin a detailed assessment to determine the extent of damage and the work required for restoration.
