Stan and Islay Eby (above) of RR 5, Kincardine are urging other farmers to support the Kincardine Hospital redevelopment project and Bruce County's first Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine, through the ONE Acre Challenge.
With crops coming off the field, all farmers can make a difference to their local hospital by donating the gross proceeds from ONE acre of a 2026 crop of their choice to the project, and helping harvest better health close to home.
Stan Eby says the idea came to him as he was thinking what the farming community could do to support the hospital redevelopment and MRI project.
"What about donating the proceeds of ONE acre of crop?" he says. "So, I put that challenge out to test the waters, and it's been well-received by everyone I've spoken to about it."
To sign up for the ONE Acre Challenge, contact Kincardine Hospical capital campaign manager Mark Womack at the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, 519-396-3331, Ext. 4335, or by E-mail at kfcapitalcampaign@outlook.com.
