Wayne Palmateer of Kincardine and Marv Glazier, a Bruce Beach cottager, are part of the roster for the international over-80 senior hockey tournament in Huntsville, Nov. 2-6.
The tournament, called The Canada 150 Cup, features four teams - two from Canada and two from the United States - with Palmateer and Glazier representing Kincardine on the Canada "A" team. The team also includes players from Huntsville, Burlington, Markham, Collingwood, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Brampton and North Bay,
This is Glazier's fourth time playing in the tournament as a forward, while this is Palmateer's first time on the team, as the starting goalie.
Palmateer says Glazier approached him after a "Huff and Puff" (seniors) hockey game at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine. Glazier is a first-line player and put Palmateer's name forward to the team organizer in Burlington.
Both are looking forward to the tournament.
"It's a great honour to represent Kincardine," says Palmateer.
The tournament runs at the Don Lough Arena in Huntsville, celebrating hockey's true legends in The Canada 150 Cup. For more information, check the website at canada150cup.ca.
