Glen Michael Chaput of Kincardine died Oct. 21, 2026, at the age of 70.
A devoted husband, loving father, and proud Papa, he meant the world to his family and friends.
He shared 45 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Carol Anne (Wilson), the love of his life. Together, they enjoyed many adventures, winters spent down south, games of pickleball and golf, and, most importantly, time spent surrounded by family and friends.
Glen was the proud father of Sarah (Justin) Harker, Curtis Chaput, and Blair Chaput, and an incredibly proud Papa of Hudson, Zoey, and Violet. Nothing brought him greater joy than watching his grandchildren do what they loved, whether it was theatre, hockey, soccer, or baseball. He was always their biggest supporter and took great pride in being part of their lives.
Deeply missed by his siblings, Kim (Bruce) Damaren, Rose (David) Rochon, Andrew (Cathy) Chaput, and Maureen (Brian) Clouthier; his brother-in-law, Larry (Debbie) Wilson; his sister-in-law, Dorinda Cummings; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Predeceased by his parents, Clayton and Carmel Chaput; and his parents-in-law, Angus and Donna Wilson.
Glen's favourite place on earth was the family cottage, where some of his happiest memories were made. He had enjoyed summers at the cottage since he was a young boy, and it remained a special place throughout his life. Days spent fishing, enjoying the beach, playing pétanque, and gathering around the table for countless games of cards, were what life was all about to him.
He loved a little friendly competition and was never one to pass up an opportunity to poke fun, share a laugh, or try to come out on top. Whether it was golf, pickleball, bridge, fishing, or cards, he brought his competitive spirit and sense of humour to everything he did.
Glen never said no to a family trip and enjoyed many wonderful adventures over the years with family and friends. In recent years, he especially enjoyed a trip out west to Alberta and British Columbia, as well as a family trip to Mexico.
This past summer, he celebrated his 70th birthday and 45th wedding anniversary at a wonderful chalet surrounded by family, enjoying many of his favourite things and making memories that will be cherished for years to come.
He treasured his annual golf and fishing trips and his weekly bridge games, but above all, he treasured the friendships that came with them. Glen was fortunate to have many wonderful friends, including life-long friends he had known since childhood. These friendships meant the world to him and were an important part of his life.
A long-time member of Boilermakers Local 128, Glen dedicated many years of his career working at Bruce Power and Darlington nuclear generating stations, before retiring in 2014.
Throughout his years facing cancer, Glen showed remarkable courage, strength, and determination.
He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, friendly rivalries, and a family that loved him deeply. He will be missed more than words can express, but his spirit will live on in the traditions he created, the friendships he cherished, and the countless memories shared around the cottage, the golf course, and the card table.
Family and friends are invited to a come-and-go Celebration of Life, Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, fro 2-5 p.m., at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 183, Kincardine.
In honour of Glen and his love for his grandchildren, donations may be made to Kincardine Minor Hockey or Kincardine Minor Baseball, or to a charity of your choice, at the Cameron Funeral Home, Kincardine. Condolences and donations may be made on-line at www.cameronsofkincardine.com.
