Happy Birthday to Jaclyn and Natalie Newman who turned seven last week.

Everyone must have been enjoying the Scotties Curling on TV this week. Great curling wasn’t it! And, of course, lots of folks were outside Sunday enjoying the beautiful sunshine and balmy temperatures! Spring might just be around the corner after all.

Sympathy of the community is extended to the family of Morley Kirstine of Kincardine.

Mary Anne Kukoly visited with Ruth and Janice McCosh in Goderich last week.

June and Earl Elliott were pleased to see their granddaughter, Lyn Elliott, featured in a couple of magazines recently. Lyn is the Visitor Experience Team Leader for the new national park in the North West Territories. The park is called Naats’ihch’oh and is next to the Nahanni National Park. In the Canoe and Kayak magazine, her trip down the Broken Skull River was described in detail – definitely not a trip for the faint of heart! Lyn is the daughter of Janice and Stephen Elliott of Blind River. Janice and Stephen were visiting with June and Earl this weekend.

Brianna Husk of Hamilton and her mother, Sandra, visited with her grandparents, Marilyn and Don Reid, Sunday afternoon.

Wayne and Janet Rhody visited with Mandy Zuk and family in Walkerton, Sunday for supper.

Maureen and Roy Collins and Morley and Deanna Scott had supper with John Campbell, Sunday evening.

Ladies don’t forget the Women's Institute meeting, Wednesday, March 2, at 1:30 p.m., at Diane Clifford’s home. The speaker is from WES for Youth and the topic is mental health. Everyone welcome.

Quote for this week: People don’t always need advice. Sometimes, all they really need is a hand to hold, an ear to listen and a heart to understand them.
