Laureine Elizabeth Trepanier (Myers), formerly of Kincardine, died Oct. 27, 2026, at Lee Manor Long-Term Care facility in Owen Sound, in her 92nd year.
She was born in Dover Township, County of Kent, July 12, 1935. Throughout her life, she made her home in Wallaceburg, Kincardine, Port Elgin, and Owen Sound.
While raising her family, Laureine brought joy to others through her work at a fashion store and showed her determination when she returned to school in her 50s to earn her diploma, later working at the Southampton Long-Term Care facility.
A giving soul, she also volunteered with the OPP, driving women and children to shelters and making sure the little ones always had a new stuffed animal to hug. She always made herself available to help others.
Vivacious, outgoing, gentle, and kind-hearted, Laureine will be remembered for her cheeky spirit, warm personality, and her profound love of life. She possessed a well-known love for red cars and everything else in shades of pink. Her great passions were driving, walking, striking up conversations with friends and strangers, alike, and singing and yodelling at country jamborees from Grey Bruce to Florida, alongside her partner, Lorne. Together, they enjoyed a long, beautiful life, calling Port Elgin home while also spending treasured time in Wasaga Beach, Colpoy’s Bay, Florida, and Owen Sound.
She is now reunited with her beloved partner, Lorne Veale.
Laureine is predeceased by her parents, William Henry Maillet Myers (1884 -1951) and Valerie Irene Emery (1890 – 1983); and her dear family members, Edna (1910), Verna (1912), Della (1914), Leona (1916), Viola (1917), Donald (1924), Bernida (1925), Bernard (1926), Beulah (1929), Winnifred (1932), Loretta (age two), Flora (age four), Dorey (age one) and Aldouse (age three weeks) who passed before her.
Memories of Laureine will be lovingly cherished. She will be missed by her children, Darlene Scarfo of Pickering, Phil (Julie) Trepanier of Kincardine, Paul (Robin) Trepanier of Washington, D.C., and Kaitlin (Debra) Trepanier. She leaves behind a lasting legacy in her grandchildren, Cole McLelland, Alysia Scarfo (Darlene), Maxine Trepanier (Phil), Luke Trepanier, and Jake Trepanier (Paul), as well as many extended family members, friends, and acquaintances.
Though she has left this world, Laureine lives on in the stories and memories of everyone she encountered.
The family expresses deep gratitude to the staff at Lee Manor for the incredible care and support of Laureine over the years.
As per Laureine’s wishes, cremation has taken place; a private family interment will follow at a later date.
