Former worker at Doupe's and Stanley's Equipment, dies at the age of 80

John “Jack” Albert Holmes of Kincardine, died at home with his family by his side, Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, in his 81st year.

Predeceased by his wife, Kathleen “Kay”.

Dear father of Cliff of Sudbury, Valerie (Andrew) Stopford of Kincardine, and Ken (Lisa) of Kingston. Loved grandpa of Nichole, Robert, Jessica, Mike, Mark, Steven and Melissa. Cherished great-grandpa of Ethan, Jase, Arizona and Xander.

Survived by his siblings, Harriet (Bill) Green of Chatham, Don (Kathy) of Chatham and Rick (Ann) of Noelville.

After 23 years at Case in Toronto and Essex, Jack came to Kincardine in 1980 to work at Doupe’s Equipment. Eleven years later, he joined Stanley’s Farm Equipment where he worked for 14 years before retiring.

Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Thursday, March 3, 2016, from 7-9 p.m.

The funeral will be held in the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home chapel, Friday, March 4, 2016, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Peter Stopford officiating.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
