Purple Grove news

We are so encouraged to hear of the many acts of kindness in neighbours caring for seniors and others.

That was a lot of snow to get out of the way Wednesday morning. March sure came in like a lion!

Folks are enjoying seeing the snowy owls in the neighbourhood too.

Thursday last week, Bruce County Women's Institute District Directors held their planning meeting at the Chesley Fire Hall. Ladies planned for the District Annual in May, the Rally in October, and Workshops from the Rural Women’s Health Support Initiative for caregivers. Grey-Bruce will be hosting two in the area – May 3 at the Ripley-Huron Community Centre and May 6 at the Tara Legion. More information will follow.

The World Day of Prayer was celebrated in several of our churches Friday, and focused on the women and children of Cuba.

The family of Joyce and John Farrell gathered Saturday to celebrate Amber Droppert’s first birthday, and also Teresa Becker's and John’s birthdays.

Congratulations to Sarah and Danny Blank on the birth of their son, Enoch, Feb. 21. Another blessing for grandparents, Bernice and Carmon Courtney, and great-grandparents, Joyce Courtney and the Scheurwaters of Wingham.

Sympathy of the community is extended to the families of Joyce Pollock of Wingham and Duncan McCallum of Hanover.

Visiting with Jim and Fran Farrell recently were Simon and Jan Logtenberg of Dungannon and Jamie, Crystal and Danica Farrell of Holstein.
