Dedicated Ripley Legion member, firefighter dies at the age of 67
The Village of Ripley has lost a dedicated Legion member and 15-year volunteer firefighter.

Terry Paquette of Ripley, died after a short illness, surrounded by his family at Grey-Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, March 6, 2016, at the age of 67.

Beloved husband of the late June (nee McIntyre) who predeceased him in 2012. 

Born in Goderich, March 26, 1948, he was the son of the late Barbara (Roots) and Donald Paquette.

Dear father of Kerri and Keith Pollock, Mickie and Dave Elliott, and Suzanne and Steve Nicholson, all of Ripley. Cherished grandpa of Matt, Gavin, Kennydi and Parker.

Survived by his siblings: Donald and Janet of Kincardine, Jim of Lucan, Philip and Cathy of Goderich, and Janice and Robin Matchett of Kincardine; his in-laws, Gord and Sandy McIntyre, Jean and Dennis McLeod, Shirley Marcotte, and many nieces and nephews.

Terry will be remembered as a kind and helpful neighbour, friend and community member. He was a dedicated Ripley Legion member, and volunteered for 15 years as a firefighter with the Ripley-Huron Fire Department.

Visitation will be held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Thursday, March 10, 2016, from 2-4 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. A Ripley Legion service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The funeral will be held March 11, 2016, at 2 p.m., at St. Andrew's United Church, Ripley.

Interment, Ripley Cemetery.

Donations to Ripley Minor Hockey or the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 440, Ripley, would be appreciated by the family.
