Police investigating damage to community mailboxes

(KINCARDINE, ON) – The South Bruce OPP is investigating several reports of Canada Post community mailboxes being pried open in the Kincardine area between March 3-6. 

The affected Canada Post sites are reported to be:
 

  • Saugeen Street in Kincardine.

  • James Street in Kincardine

  • Kingsway in Kincardine

  • St. Albert Street in Kincardine

  • Penetangore Row in Huron Township

  • Boiler Beach Road in Huron Township


It’s unknown what was taken, but residents who use one of the affected sites should be aware that mail could be missing.  The OPP’s website, www.opp.ca, contains a number of useful resources, tips and links to help protect you from fraud, scams and identity theft.
 

Suspicious vehicles or suspicious people should be reported to police immediately so that an officer can investigate.
 

The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122.  Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a secure web-tip at www.crimestoppersgb.ca, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
