Accomplished Kincardine artist Betty Sanjana dies in her 90th year

Elisabeth “Betty” Sanjana of Kincardine, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine, Friday, March 25, 2016,in her 90th year.

Beloved wife of the late James Sanjana who predeceased her in November, 2012.

Dear mother of Jane (Rolf) Willich of RR 2, Tiverton; Lesley (David) Ribner of Andover, Massachusetts; and Victoria Sanjana (Mark Liddall) of Toronto. Cherished grandmother of Max (Jessica) Willich, Oliver (Jessie) Willich, Simon Ribner and Elliott Ribner' and great-grandmother of Isabella Willich and Felix Willich.

Fondly remembered by her sister, Helen Giejgo of London, England; cousin, Moyra Kitson of Kilmarnock, Scotland; sister-in-law, June Sanjana of Scotland; and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was born in Kilmarnock, Scotland, June 22, 1926. She graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 1948. Betty immigrated to Canada in 1954, raised three daughters and owned several retail stores in Brampton. An accomplished artist, her artwork has been exhibited throughout Ontario and the United Kingdom.

A memorial service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, 757 Princes Street, Kincardine, Monday, March 28, 2016, at 1:30 p.m., Ann Maycock celebrant.

Memorial donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
