(HURON EAST, ON) – A Port Elgin man has been charged with Racing, following a traffic stop that took place March 19, near Brussels.
At 1:12 p.m., a Huron County OPP officer spotted a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck travelling eastbound on Brandon Road, east of Brussels, at a high rate of speed. The officer confirmed his visual observations of the approaching vehicle with a RADAR device and confirmed the speed of the racing truck at a high of 132 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was subsequently charged.
Ray McLEAN, 42, of Port Elgin, has been charged with “Race a Motor Vehicle”. He has a court appearance scheduled for May 10, at Provincial Offences Act Court in Goderich. His licence was suspended for seven days and his motor vehicle was impounded for a week.
