Walker House is an important part of the Kincardine community, says writer
To the Editor:

Kindness, togetherness and charitable deeds to others - that's what makes a community, a community.

For instance, the Bervie Women's Institute gave of itself, by offering a donation to the Paddy Walker House.

The site of this house and tavern is very special - showing that in many ways, life and life events in the past and in 2016 have not really changed.

Don't we owe it to Paddy Walker and his family who built and operated this establishment, as well as those who saved it from being torn down and then meticulously resurrected it again, to maintain the Walker House as part of Kincardine's history?

Other organizations have shown, in large ways and small ways, their pride in helping others.

If this isn't community spirit, what is?

Editor's Note: Carol LeNestour of Vector Theatre, which staged the play, "Mary's Wedding," at the Walker House in November, 2015, was pleased to present a $1,000 donation to the Walker House, from that production.
