Storage barn in Huron-Kinloss destroyed by fire
A storage barn on a farm in Huron-Kinloss was destroyed by fire Saturday night.
Ripley-Huron fire chief Chris Cleave said firefighters were called out at 11:38 p.m. to a farm on Sideroad 30, just south of the 12th Concession. When they arrived, the structure was already burned to the ground.
"It was a challenge to extinguish the blaze due to the wind and weather that night," said Cleave. "We battled it into the early morning hours and finally put it out."
The barn was full of hay and the total loss is estimated at $75,000.
The cause is undetermined.
