Pedestrian dies after being hit by car near Belgrave

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car near Belgrave, Wednesday afternoon, April 20.

At about 1:15 p.m., Huron County OPP, along with Huron County EMS and North Huron Fire Department personnel, responded to the collision, at the intersection of London Road (Huron County Road 4) and Morris Road (Huron County Road 16).  
 

Police have determined the female pedestrian entered onto the through roadway (London Road) whereupon a southbound Chevrolet Impala collided with her.
 

The woman was transported from the scene to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The identity of the deceased will be released pending next-of-kin notification. A post-mortem examination has been scheduled to take place Thursday, April 21.
 

Western Region OPP Technical Traffic Investigation members attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation.  The roadway was closed for several hours but has since been re-opened.
