Crowd raises $100,000 at Tribute to Duncan Hawthorne

A crowd of more than 600 helped raise $100,000 for charity, and honoured retired Bruce Power president and chief executive officer Duncan Hawthorne (above, with wife, Lesley), at the same time, last night (April 20) in Ripley.

The Tribute to Duncan Hawthorne was held on the arena floor at the Ripley-Huron Community Centre, decorated beautifully for the occasion.

The evening included a delicious meal, as well as congratulations and best wishes to Hawthorne and his wife, Lesley, who are returning to the United Kingdom at the end of the month.

The funds raised will be split between the Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey, and the Liv-A-Little Foundation. Money continues to be raised for these two charities to the end of April, with a gate collection at the Bruce Nuclear site, April 30.
