Northsiders take the cup again in North versus South Challenge Walk

For the second year in a row, the Northsiders have captured the cup in the North versus South Challenge Walk, held Monday night at Victoria Park.

Organizer Kate Mahood-Richards said this year was even more successful with 206 signing in from the North side, and 188 for the South side.

Last year, the first time the event had been held in many years, the North side won with 169 walkers, over the 150 walkers from the South.

There was a tie for the top spot in the school category, with 47 students from each of Huron Heights Public School and Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School. Ecole Elgin Market Public School had 37, St. Anthony's School had 12, and Kincardine District Secondary School had eight.

Thanks to everyone who participated and to the generous community for donating lots of items to the Kincardine Food Bank at the event.
