Kincardine Lions host Walk for Dog Guides June 5

The Kincardine Lions Club is hosting the Purina Walk for Dog Guides, Sunday, June 5, at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.

Registration begins at 12:40 p.m., with the walk starting at 1 p.m.

This event helps raise funds in support of disabled Canadians, giving them a new "Leash on Life!" One hundred per cent of the funds raised goes toward training and placing Dog Guides with the increasing number of Canadians who need them.
 

The Walk for Dog Guides is a "Pawsitive" fun community event, with piper Jennifer Farrell of the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band leading the participants as they head out on their routes. There will be balloons for the kids and a barbecue, with hot dogs and water at a cost of $3 each. All walkers who bring a dog get a hot dog free!
 

Pledge sheets are available at the Davidson Centre, local vet clinics, or by calling 519-396-7459.
 

• Walk with your friends, family and co-workers; the event is pet-friendly but you don’t need a dog to participate.
• Everyone is welcome – all ages and abilities – and you are not required to complete the route to participate.
• Everyone is a winner - 100 per cent of the funds you raise goes toward the training and placement of Dog Guides.
