(KINCARDINE, ON) – An 81-year-old Mildmay man, reported missing Wednesday, has been found.
The South Bruce OPP was notified that Allan GOETZ was missing May 25, at 12:51 p.m.
During the late evening of May 25, GOETZ was located safe and sound. The South Bruce OPP appreciates the assistance of the media and the public with this investigation.
POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN MOTORCYCLE
(TIVERTON, ON) – May 22, at 6:38 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a theft at a residence along King Street in Tiverton.
Sometime between 11 p.m. May 21, and 6:30 a.m. May 22, a white Suzuki S20 motorcycle with Licence No. 8764H was taken. The value of the stolen motorcycle is estimated to be $2,000.
IMPAIRED DRIVER NEARLY HITS POLICE VEHICLE
(WALKERTON, ON) – May 21, at 11:09 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer was on patrol along Durham Street East in Walkerton when the police vehicle was nearly hit by a silver Volkswagen Jetta turning onto Durham Street East.
The vehicle was signalled to pull over using the cruiser emergency lighting, but it kept going. Officers got the vehicle stopped on Colborne Street South and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Nineteen-year-old Michael RATCHFORD of the Municipality of South Bruce has been charged with improper right turn, fail to stop and operate over-80 milligrams. He is scheduled to appear in court July 6, to answer to the charges.
TEENS WITH NO SAFETY EQUIPMENT HELPED ASHORE
(LAKE HURON, ON) – May 20, at 7:38 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of two teens using kayaks on the waters of Lake Huron, who appeared to need help.
Officers arrived to find that the pair had already been helped ashore, but neither had a personal flotation device. The two 19-year-old London men were charged under the Canada Shipping Act for the safety equipment violation.
The South Bruce OPP is sending a reminder to ensure you have the proper safety equipment onboard before you go out on the water. POLICE INVESTIGATING THEFT FROM STORAGE LOCKERS
(ARRAN TWP, ON) – May 18, at 1:03 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a theft at the Tara Self Storage located in the 3600 block of Bruce County Road 10 in Arran Township.
Sometime between 5 p.m. May 17, and 1 p.m. May 18, storage lockers were forcibly entered. The list of property taken includes an orange Husqvarna 128L gas-powered trimmer, an orange Husqvarna 128RJ gas-powered trimmer and an orange Husqvarna 7021P lawnmower. The value of the stolen items is estimated to be more than $1,300.
