The Kincardine To the Point Toastmasters Club is 25 years old. The club celebrated this milestone with an open house May 5, at the Lighthouse Fellowship Baptist Church in Kincardine.
Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development since 1924. The first club was organized by Dr. Ralph C. Smedley.
The membership is more than 313,000 strong. These members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 14,650 clubs in 126 countries that make up the global network of meeting locations.
Toastmasters Kincardine offers leadership and communication skills in an encouraging and learning atmosphere.
The affordable, work-at-your-own-pace program has two branches: the communication branch in which you present a series of speeches of increasing difficulty; and the leadership branch where there are plenty of opportunities to learn and gain experience in all sorts of activities, both at the meetings and behind the scenes.
Let’s face it, whether it’s verbal or non-verbal, communication isn’t optional. Developing and honing this important skill, along with the other skills you gain with Toastmasters, will give you the confidence to do the following:
