Sunset Quilters welcome speaker on quilt designing

The Kincardine Sunset Quilters’ Guild hosted a “trunk show," Monday, June 6, at St. Anthony’s Church. 

Guest speaker was Patti Carey of Northcott Silk Industries, a Canadian distributor of cotton-printed fabrics. More than 100 ladies attended the event.

Carey outlined the secrets of designing quilt elements, and attendees were introduced to Strip-R’s - five to 10 printed two-inch columns that easily adapt themselves to a wonderful array of quilts and save time for the sewer.

Carey's Painted Porcelain Quilt was featured in McCall’s Quilting Magazine (January/February issue). And she will be presenting at Quilt Canada in Toronto June 17.

Her design work is often seen in quilting magazines, sewing blogs, and at international quilt shows.
