Huron OPP deem Operation Corridor a success

(HURON COUNTY, ON) –  Operation Corridor, a one-day enforcement and education initiative aimed at all commercial vehicle drivers to help keep Ontario roads safe, was considered a success by the Huron County OPP. 

Five large commercial motor vehicles were subjected to a thorough safety check. A full mechanical inspection on each vehicle and attached trailer was conducted. The OPP-trained Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspector also checked for completed and up-to-date documentation of log books, pre-trip permits, licences and insurance certificates. 
 

All of the vehicles checked out in terms of safety. However, during an inspection in Wingham, the officer noted the transport truck driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening test was completed and the driver registered a Warn Range suspension. As a result, a 51-year-old Chesley man was served with a three-day driver’s licence suspension.
