Impaired driver loses control of vehicle in Elderslie Township

(ELDERSLIE TWP, ON) – July 2, at 10:57 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a single-vehicle crash along Bruce County Road 10 in Elderslie Township. 

Officers arrived and found a grey Toyota Matrix in the west ditch of Bruce County Road 10. There was no one with the vehicle.
 

The OPP Canine Unit and West Region OPP Emergency Response team members assisted in locating a man nearby who was found to have been drinking alcohol.
 

Sixty-four-year-old Helmut SKAISGIRSKI of Owen Sound has been charged with impaired care or control, care or control over-80 milligrams and fail to remain. He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 3, to answer to the charges.  There were no injuries reported at the scene.
