Chilly weather for first Cruise Night of the summer in downtown Kincardine

It was a cold and windy evening for the first Cruise Night of the summer, in downtown Kincardine, July 1.

There were 225 vehicles and 25 motorcycles at the event, and organizers said that number may have been down by about 100 vehicles due to weather conditions earlier in the day. The Friday morning saw a torrential rainfall hit during the Canada Day parade and ceremony at the flag pole on Harbour Street.

However, Cruise Night saw one of the largest turn-outs of spectators.

One of the highlights at the event, was a 1934 Cadillac, owned by Steve Plunkett of London. The longest car ever built, up to 1934, it has performed in many television shows. It is nine feet, two inches long, from the horn button to the bumper!

Also on display, was a 1959 El Camino, owned by Ken Alischer of Baden - 1959 was the first year this vehicle was made.

Cruise Nights continue July 29 and Sept. 2, from 6-9 p.m., in downtown Kincardine.
