Kincardine hospital student volunteer co-ordinator honoured with certificate of appreciation

Anne Nicolson, student volunteer co-ordinator for many years at the Kincardine hospital, part of the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, has been honoured for her years of hard work and dedication to this program.

Several of the student volunteers met at Kincardine District Secondary School for the year-end celebration and to receive their awards. Joining them were Nicolson, Nancy Dupuis, co-ordinator of volunteer services for the health centre; and Kincardine hospital auxiliary president Carol Colling.

Nicolson has retired from the co-ordinator position and presenting the awards to the student volunteers was her final official duty before handing over the job to Dupuis.

Certificates were presented to Danica Wall for 38.5 hours of volunteer service, Chloe Wheeler for 35.05 hours, Josephine Yoon for  36.66 hours, and Avery Fitzgerald for 79.5 hours. Lauren Andrews received her 50-hour pin and certificate for 67.5 hours, and Raza Hussein received her 100-hour disc and certificate for 112.65 hours.

Special student volunteer awards, for more than 300 hours of service, were given to Sana Hussein for 310.25 hours, and Isabel Tuck for 335.75 hours.

Dupuis presented Nicolson with a volunteer appreciation award on behalf of Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson, recognizing Nicolson's contribution to this program.

Appreciation goes to Nicolson and to all these students for volunteering to this very worthwhile program.
