Ainsdale ladies enjoy hot, sunny afternoon; while senior men golf on perfect summer day

The Ainsdale Ladies enjoyed a hot, sunny afternoon Wednesday, at the golf course.
 

The occasion was the annual Meridian Credit Union-sponsored barbecued meal night, starting with a nine-hole, two-person scramble, followed by a sumptuous, barbecued steak or smoked pork chop dinner with all the trimmings, topped off with a heaped-up serving of good fellowship.

 

The prizes provided by Meridian Credit Union  were awarded to 10 teams consisting of:

Winners of a sleeve of golf balls for closest-to-the-pin on No. 8, were Denise Tighe and Kathy Mackay, while the winners of a free refreshment at the bar, were Barb Lansink and Bonnie Boyd.

 

Winners of the 50/50 Junior Draw for July, were Diane Small and Donna Murray.

 

SENIOR MEN'S LEAGUE
 

It was a perfect summer day, as Ainsdale welcomed another great turn-out for the Senior Men's scramble Wednesday. After two teams tied at minus-two on the back nine, the group of Gary Firth, Ted Carthy, Hugh Jones and Rod Shanks prevailed in a putt-off. 

Closest-to-the-pin sharpshooters, were Doug Boyd on No. 12 and Wayne Morrow on No. 17.
