Bruce Power completes Unit 3 planned outage
Bruce Power’s Unit 3 was reconnected to Ontario’s electricity grid, Friday, marking the end of the planned maintenance outage.

“The successful return of Unit 3 provides Ontario families and businesses with 780 megawatts of safe, clean, reliable, low-cost nuclear energy in time for the Civic Holiday long weekend,” said Len Clewett, chief nuclear officer. “During these hot summer months, when air conditioners are running on high, Bruce Power reliably provides over 30 per cent of Ontario’s electricity at 30 per cent less than the average residential price of power.”

During planned outages at Bruce Power, the company completes a range of work, including inspection activities, maintenance and targeted investments to deliver safe, reliable operations and to meet the company’s role in Ontario’s Long-Term Energy Plan.
