Reid's Corners W.I. raises $604 at Alzheimer Tea

The Reid's Corners Women's Institute has raised $604 at the Alzheimer Tea, held Wednesday afternoon at the Pine River United Church.

About 40 people attended the event, enjoying tea, coffee, dessert and fruit, with all proceeds to the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce.

The tea was organized by Brenda Ramsdale, president of the Reid's Corners W.I., along with members Ruth Anne Robinson, Joan Wand, Sharon Courtney, and a group of dedicated volunteers.

Robinson provided some good jokes and stories, as well as poems appropriate for the Alzheimer Tea.

She also told the group that the Reid's Corners W.I. has funding for a Rural Women's Health Support Initiative which provides care for caregivers in the community.

The Reid's Corners W.I. meets the third Wednesday of each month and is always pleased to welcome new members. The next meeting is Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Pine River United Church.
