Tom Thomson print up for bid in Kincardine hospital auxiliary fund-raiser

"Split Rock, Georgian Bay," by Tom Thomson (above, with Kincardine hospital auxiliary member Nicole Whitwell, and at right) is the next print in the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine hospital auxiliary's Art/Easel Program fund-raiser.

Tom Thomson was a long-time resident of Algonquin Park so his love for the park and the outdoors was the focus of many of his paintings. He also spent time at the cottage of his patron, Dr. MacCallum, at Go Home Bay, Georgian Bay.

Georgian Bay provided a new inspiration for many of Thomson's plain air works.

Starting bid is  $200 and the print is on display at the Kincardine hospital until Sept. 19.
