Kincardine Theatre Guild presents memorial scholarship to Steven Travale

The Kincardine Theatre Guild has presented its annual $1,000 memorial scholarship to Steven Travale (above) of Kincardine.

"An active member of the guild since 2012, Steven performed many roles, with nominations at the Western Ontario Drama League Festival," said Leise Peddie of the scholarship committee. "He worked with equal enthusiasm backstage, doing any job required. We will miss him and wish him good luck in his future at the University of Ottawa."

A graduate of St. Anthony's School in Kincardine, and Sacred Heart High School in Walkerton, Steven began his acting career with the major role of Gilbert Blythe in the Kincardine Theatre Guild production of "Anne of Green Gables, the Musical." He also performed in "South Pacific" and "Meet Me in St. Louis."

He has served as MC for community presentations, taken part in shows in support of the Paddy Walker Heritage Society, and performed in the Sacred Heart Crusaders drama productions.

In addition, he performed opposite Alanna Boucher in the inaugural Vector Theatre production of "Mary's Wedding."
