South Bruce OPP report impaired driver; and injured pedestrian

IMPAIRED DRIVER FACING DAY IN COURT
 

(WALKERTON, ON) – Oct. 5, at 2:30 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Yonge Street South in Walkerton, stopped a green Chrysler Intrepid. 

The officer found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Fifty-six-year-old Douglas GILBERT of Brockton has been charged with operate over-80 milligrams. He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 2, to answer to the charge.
 

MINOR INJURIES TO PEDESTRIAN IN COLLISION WITH JEEP
 

(KINCARDINE, ON) – Oct. 5, at 6:36 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a Jeep, at the intersection of Queen Street and Broadway in Kincardine. 

Officers arrived with Bruce County EMS to find that a white Jeep Cherokee had struck the pedestrian. A 62-year-old Kincardine resident was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the Cherokee, a 54-year-old resident of Iowa, United States, was charged with fail to yield to pedestrian.
