Tickets selling fast for theatre guild's "Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat"
Tickets are selling fast for the Kincardine Theatre Guild's production of "Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat," which opens Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Kincardine Arts Centre in downtown Kincardine. It features lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, by special arrangement with R&H Theatricals (Rodgers & Hammerstein).
About 60 veteran actors and new members are performing in this show, with plenty of fabulous music and outstanding choreography. Jaki Mayer-Duggan is director, with Joy King as musical director.
Based on the Biblical story of Jacob and his 12 sons, found in the book of Genesis, the musical is set in a frame in which a narrator is telling a story to children, encouraging them to dream. She then tells the story of Joseph, another dreamer.
There are a number of new people in this production, with 21 children, and 35 youth and adults playing the parts of two narrators, 12 brothers, the father, wives, kings and slaves.
The show runs Nov. 17-19 at 8 p.m., (Gala night is Nov. 19); Nov. 20 at 2 p.m.; Nov. 24-25 at 8 p.m.; Nov. 26-27 at 2 p.m.; Dec. 1-2 at 8 p.m.; and Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25 each; available at J'Adorn in downtown Kincardine. Get your tickets soon; this is bound to be a sell-out!
