Ottawa woman wins Huron-Kinloss Ice Cream Trail contest
An Ottawa woman has won the grand prize of 250 Huron-Kinloss Dollars in the township's 2016 Ice Cream Trail™ contest.

Deputy mayor Wilfred Gamble and business and economic officer Taralyn Cronin made the draw Oct. 24 and the winner was Jackie McCormick of Ottawa, a long-time participant.

In addition to the grand prize, special prizes were awarded to the largest group, and to two individuals or groups with the funniest/most creative entries.

Congratulations to Dennis Kaufman’s motorcycle group for winning the prize for the largest group, for the second year in a row. Fourteen other motorcyclists joined Kaufman on a tour across Huron-Kinloss to explore the Ice Cream Trail™ stops and local food destinations.

The funniest and most creative photos were submitted by Ciara and Curtis Airdrie of Blyth, and Frances Drake, Joanne Nolte, and Candy Hertsch of Port Elgin.

Organizers thank everyone who participated in the 2016 Ice Cream Trail™. Be sure to visit www.icecreamtrail.ca for information about next year’s event celebrating Canada’s 150th Anniversary.
