Snow was in the air, Thursday morning, as the Kincardine area had its first taste of winter. Above, the snow falls along Highway 21, south of Russell Street, Kincardine, looking south.
While it didn't last long, the cold and snow was a clear reminder that winter isn't that far away. A bit of snow fell Wednesday evening, followed by extensive rainfall.
The temperature hit zero degrees Celsius overnight, just low enough to turn the rain to snow once more. By noon Thursday, it was all over except for the overcast sky.
The forecast is for a return to more seasonal double-digit temperatures through the weekend, and a balmy 12 degrees Celsius for Halloween.
